Pawsitive Steps LLC - Lisa Perovich partners with her therapy dogs to help children read

	Lisa Perovich graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science. Since then, she has also: Become a PATH Certified Therapeutic Horseback Riding Instructor and Equine Specialist in Mental Health & Learning Completed a professional development course in Animal Assisted Therapy & Education through Natural Connections Learning Center Completed Delta Society Pet Partners® Training and passed multiple Skills & Aptitude Tests Participated in the Reading Education Assistance Dogs (R.E.A.D.®) Instructional Workshop Passed the Therapy Dogs International® Evaluation Received the American Heart Association Certification in CPR & First Aid for Children and Adults
	Lisa worked as a Special Education paraprofessional in the Buffalo-Hanover-Montrose public schools, with and without her therapy dogs. She assisted students with a variety of disabilities, including ADD/ADHD, Austism Spectrum Disorders, Development and Cognitive Disorders, Emotional/Behavioral Disorders and Learning Disabilities.
	In addition to Pawsitive Steps, Lisa currently works as an Instructor, Therapy Assistant and the Office Manager at Hold Your Horses, an equine-assisted occupational therapy practice in Independence, Minnesota.
	Lisa has worked with assistance and therapy animals for over 20 years; including nearly 20 years of visits to hospitals, schools, and residential care facilities with her registered therapy dogs, 10 years of volunteering with a therapeutic horseback riding program, and 5 years as an assistance dog puppy raiser.
	Lisa and her husband George have lived in Maple Lake township for over 10 years.
